About Me: The hardest battle to conquer and the greatest obstacle to overcome, is the war within. Inner Konflict Aka Konflict brings an authentic voice to those battles so many of us face. Through his dynamic style and hard-hitting lyrics this artist brings a new level of realism to the hip-hop game. A Toronto native born, Konflicts musical inspirations lie with the lyrical ingenuity of Jay-Z, Nas and soul genius Ray Charles, which began long before he came into the rap scene. However, it does not stop there. The resonating sounds of bands like Metallica, Nirvana and U2 also hold a place on his musical palette. Konflicts eclectic ear has only fueled his relentless relationship with music. He originally started out as a poet and in the late 90s found that rapping was the logical next step. In 1998 he co-founded Night-hoodz, a hip-hop group which brought together five unique artists eager to make their mark on the music scene. To their credit, they have produced and recorded three albums: Street Vision, Ivy League Hostile Takeover and Silent Night. The latter was distributed to radio stations and record labels across North America. The album received much positive feedback and the group gained recognition south of the border, achieving their objective.

Konflict recently started working with Dai-Lo Recordings, where he aspires to flourish as an artist. He believes that building on his creative abilities will help him enhance his musical talent. Making it hard to break into the game is all part of the struggle but to stifle an artists creativity can destroy their whole persona. I think an artist should have more say in the initial creative process, he says. Interested in all aspects of the business, Konflict plans on doing more than just recording hip-hop music. He wants to cross over into other genres and bring together two very different sounds, histories and lifestyles to produce a distinct piece of music. He hopes that this connection will cultivate new prospects for both parties. In an industry so stifled by commonality and materialism, Konflict is the rap scenes long awaited voice of reason.
